Program Overview Programs are open to anyone between the ages of 7 and 18. All programs meet 1 day a week, for 1 hour for 8 consecutive weeks. Participants will be exposed to golf skills and life skills that promote character development and life-enhancing values that will help them navigate through their life.
Costs There is a $40 fee for each program series. Financial Scholarships are available for those who need it. These fees include the use of golf equipment, golf course access and instruction provided by certified volunteer coaches and PGA/LPGA Professionals.
Program Levels PLAYer: Required for all new participants, no previous golf experience necessary. The PLAYer level has three areas of focus-Play,Learn and Appreciate-when combined they are designed to result in one outcome. That outcome is to help PLAYers develop and play their game.
Par: This level is for juniors who have already participated in previous Par or PLAYer classes prior to this year. Par level focuses on introducing interpersonal communication and self-management skills. Participants learn how to introduce themselves, respect others and keep a positive attitude while learning something new. The golf skills focus on an introduction to playing, rules and etiquette.
PAR CERTIFICATION: Requires the completion of PAR and PLAYer Level courses. Participant must be at least 10 years old. The Par Certification is designed to ensure that the participant can successfully complete and demonstrate the proper golf and life skills required during certification evaluation. After successfully completing the certification a participant is able to move to Birdie level. Participants can move at their own pace toward achieving certification level.
